By using an exact ratio of Beta-Phenylethylamine (ß-PEA), Phenylethylamine Malate (PEA Malate) and Dl-Phenylalanine, the MAO-B barrier has been regulated. The exact mechanism of action is as follows: ß-PEA is responsible for your initial wave of stimulation, being immediately catabolized by available MAO-B. This reaction is followed by the conversion of PEA Malate (an analogue of ß-PEA attached to Malic Acid), into ß-PEA, which then follows the same fate as its raw counterpart. The additional malic acid compound is utilized for increased protection from the destructive MAO-B enzyme, allowing for a more moderate release. Dl-Phenylalanine, the last compound in this stimulation triad, is found naturally in the body and acts as a precursor to ß-PEA.
